St. Vincent de Paul Camp opened in 1974 on a site 4 miles east of Thamesville on Highway # 2, Consisting of 69 acres with about 25 acres cleared and the remainder bush. The camp is non-denominational and open to campers ages 7 - 15. (Children must be 7 by June 30.) There are activities for all campers. Some activities include swimming, nature trails, campouts, crafts, sporting activities and wagon rides. We have a large swimming pool that is well supervised. There are 10 cabins which house 2 counsellors and 10 campers each. We have an infirmary equipped by St. John Ambulance. The dining hall serves three balanced meals per day and a nightly snack. Our staff are caring and well trained young people, some returning year after year. Located in one of Canada's significant natural areas called Bothwell Forest/Skunk's Misery. It is one of few large forested tracts in Southwestern Ontario and one of the most significant woodlands in Chatham-Kent for size, diversity, forest cover and rare species. The District Ecologist has identified 244 different species of plants. Camp Update: The girls week, July 4 - 9, 2010, is full as of June 15, 2010. The boys week, July 11-16, 2010, is full as of June 16, 2010. The girls week, July 18-23, 2010 is full as of June 16, 2010. The girls week, Aug. 1-6, 2010 is full as of June 25, 2010. The boys week, July 25-30, 2010 is full as of July 5, 2010. The co-ed sections for Girls & Boys Aug. 15-20, 2010 are full. This website does not work well when using Firefox web browser.
